The Black Heritage Society continues its tribute to Edwin T. Pratt at Douglass Truth Branch Library through the month of March, 2019 with the exhibition, Edwin T. Pratt – Determined Purpose. In 1969, following the assassination of Mr. Pratt, members of the community made contributions to the African American Literature Collection that was established by the local chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha. The exhibition shares the original letters written to Mrs. Bettye Pratt from librarian, James A. Welsh that informs her of the purchases that were made in memory of her husband.
