Black Heritage Society of Washington State, Inc., (BHS)
Saturday, January 14, 2017, 2:00-4:00 p.m.

The first committee meeting of what was to become BHS was held in 1977.  Forty years later, all is now part of the collective history the Society strives to preserve.  Donald Mumford, Esther Mumford, Jacqueline E.A. Lawson and Mary Henry, are founding members who will share their recollections for establishing BHS, and their passion for regional history that created the mission that inspires today’s vision.

The Executive Board will hold a brief business meeting from 2:00-2:50 p.m. and the “Conversation” with the founders will begin at promptly 3:00 p.m.!

We look forward to a great turnout of members and as well, ALL friends who are interested in being a part of the conversation with the founders of BHS.

to celebrate its 40th Anniversary with a program that pays tribute to Northwest Black Pioneers.

We will honor the community collaboration for the 1987 award-winning exhibit,
“Northwest Black Pioneers”,  A Tribute that traveled to more than 100 cities and towns throughout the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

Vendor tables are $25.00, which includes a standard table and ONE person.
