We Lived Here: Stories of the Central Area_Book Release @ Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute

Madeline Crowley will present her new book that highlights interviews of Seattle Central Area residents on the topic of what the neighborhood means to them. BHS president, Stephanie Johnson-Toliver will join Ms. Crowley for a portion of the conversation.  Chin Music Press selected nineteen from all interviews to print in the book.  Interviewee’s include, Mona Lake-Jones, Bob Santos, The Dixon Family members, Judge Richard A. Jones, Cecile Hansen and Jacqueline Lawson.

The event is free and all are welcome.

October is National Archives Month.  The City of Seattle Archives is hosting the Archives Fair that invites nineteen organizations who archive history, stories, properties and other documents that are preserved for public access.  The Archive Fair will introduce the public to these organizations in an informal tabling event that will include a short keynote presentation.  BHS will participate at the fair.  *The event is free and all are welcome.
