Dr. Robert N. Joyner (1913-1999) was one of first Black physicians in Seattle. He practiced for nearly 50 years at his office located on E Madison Street in the Central District. Dr Joyner talks about his love for the field of medicine, starting his Seattle practice in 1949, and building his home in Seattle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juanita Alexander Davis (1919-2009) was born in Seattle, WA. and attended Garfield High School. Davis was grandchild of Seattle pioneers, Charles and Eva Harvey. She talks about the challenges of becoming a nurse and eventually hired as one of first Black King County Public Health Nurses. Family, school, and baseball are also themes in the interview. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
